Shimbashi is located in the heart of Tokyo which makes it one of the most convenient places in Tokyo and central Tokyo. Shimbashi is also one of the most accesible locations counting on subway Ginza line, JR Yamanote and Keihin Tohoku lines and as well as bus stations. You can go even until Narita Airport by taking only one train and have fast and easy access to the Bullet Train (Shinkansen) in Tokyo St. or to the major stations such as Shibuya and Shinjuku.

Right across Shimbashi St. SL Plaza is one of the mean gathering points in Shimbashi. From outdoor book expo-salers to amateur musicians performing live shows , people of all kinds and ages gather at SL Plaza and spice up the ambience for their visitors.
Shimbashi St. is one of the oldest stations in Tokyo and its therefore one of the most important transit and connection accesses. Through Ginza line it connects you to the most important stations in Central Tokyo such as Shibuya or Ueno, transfers are simple and easy for other major stations such as Shinjuku or Ikebukuro. Also through JR Yamanote and Keihin Tohoku lines almost any destination can be reached in a practical and fast way, from Tokyo St. to Narita and Haneda Airports with very economic fares. Shimbashi St. is 8 minutes walk from Ginza Palace.
Shimbashi is full of any kind of stores everywhere such as grocery stores, super markets and other small bussiness. Convenience stores are also on every corner which open the 24 hours, will be a practical choice for you when nothing else is available around.
Shimbashi is well known for its active night time on weekdays. In Shimbashi everyone sleeps late and most local bussiness as restaurants and bars are open past midnight. Not to mention japanese traditional bars dominate the area more than any other thing here.
